Neil Searle
Neil has extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of employment, immigration and occupational health and safety law.
In the field of labour law, Neil provides strategic and cost-effective advice to clients on the resolution of all types of labour disputes including unfair discrimination, unfair dismissals and unfair labour practices. Neil also advises on collective bargaining, organisational rights, strike management, restructuring and retrenchments. Neil chairs disciplinary and grievance hearings and formulates employment contracts, policies and procedures. Neil also provides training on the management of workplace discipline.
In relation to occupational health and safety law, Neil represents clients in fatality inquiries under the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Neil also advises clients on the reporting of accidents, work stoppage instructions and applications for exemption from the provisions of the MHSA and OHSA.
Neil is a former President of the Young Scholars Society (YSS) of the South African Society for Labour Law (SASLAW) and was for a number of years a member of the Gauteng Chapter Committee of SASLAW. Neil was appointed and served as an Acting Judge of the Labour Court during June/July 2021.
